Know your
blind spots.
Fix them.

ChessDiary brings your paper scoresheets, Chess.com games, and Lichess history into one place — then shows you exactly where you keep losing.

Your games are
scattered.
Your losses are
unexplained.

Paper scoresheets sit forgotten in your bag. Chess.com games live in one app. Lichess games in another. You finish a tournament round, lose a critical endgame you've lost a dozen times before — and have no idea why it keeps happening.

ChessDiary pulls everything into one place, reads your handwritten scoresheets with AI, runs Stockfish analysis on every game, and surfaces the precise tactical patterns you keep missing.

TACTICAL PATTERNS TRACKED PER GAME
1
PLACE FOR EVERYTHING EVERY FORMAT UNIFIED

Built by a student chess player, for chess players.

From Scoresheet
to Insight.

01
Capture

Photograph a paper scoresheet, screenshot an online game, upload a PDF, or paste a PGN — whatever format the game is already in.

02
Parse

Gemini AI reads the image or text and extracts a full move list automatically, handling handwriting, notation shorthand, and inconsistent formatting.

03
Validate

Review the parsed moves against the board before saving — catch a misread square or skipped move in seconds, not months later.

04
Analyze

Stockfish runs the full game move by move, flagging every inaccuracy, mistake, and blunder with the engine's recommended alternative.

No manual notation entry, no juggling three separate apps for three sources of games.

AI-POWERED
IMPORT

Photograph a handwritten scoresheet. Screenshot your phone screen. Paste a PGN. Gemini AI reads every format and extracts the moves automatically — no manual entry, no lost games.

REAL ENGINE
ANALYSIS

Every game is run through Stockfish — the same engine world champions use. Not AI guesswork: precise centipawn scores, blunders flagged to the half-move, evaluation curves for the whole game.

TACTICAL
PATTERN RECOGNITION

ChessDiary identifies whether your blunders are forks, pins, back-rank threats, or hanging pieces. After 20 games, you'll know exactly which motif is costing you the most rating points.

CHESS.COM & LICHESS
SYNC

Link your Chess.com or Lichess username once and ChessDiary pulls your game history straight from their public APIs — no manual PGN exports, no copy-pasting move lists. Online games land in the same library as your paper scoresheets, ready for the same Stockfish analysis.

ONE
UNIFIED LIBRARY

Paper tournament games, Chess.com blitz, Lichess correspondence — every game you've played lives in a single searchable library instead of three disconnected apps. Filter by opponent, opening, time control, or result, and see your whole chess history in one place for the first time.

Questions,
Answered.

What formats does ChessDiary support?

Paper scoresheet photos, PDF exports, phone screenshots of online games, and pasted PGN text. Gemini AI reads all of them and produces the same clean move list either way.

Is ChessDiary free?

Yes. ChessDiary is currently free to use on both Android and Web, supported by ads rather than a subscription.

How accurate is the scoresheet OCR?

It depends heavily on handwriting — a clearly written scoresheet parses close to perfectly, while rushed time-scramble handwriting needs more correction. Every parsed game is shown for review before it's saved, so you always catch and fix a misread move before it enters your library.

What happens if the analysis engine is busy or unreachable?

ChessDiary automatically falls back to Gemini AI for game analysis if the Stockfish engine server can't be reached, so you still get blunder and mistake flagging instead of a failed request.

Which platforms does ChessDiary run on?

Android and Web today, both built from the same codebase. The Android app is currently in closed beta on Google Play — sign up above for an invite.

Can I import my existing Chess.com or Lichess history, or just new games?

Linking your account pulls your existing game history from Chess.com's or Lichess's public API, not just games played after you connect — so your whole online history lands in the library at once.
